The Colorado
Department of Education in Denver has implemented a new web-based licensing tracking
system that
allows you to check on the status of your license paperwork.
When
you log in, do not put dashes in your social security number (list as
continuous digits) and be sure to list your year of birth as a four

Colorado Department of Education (C.D.E.) application forms
at: http://www.cde.state.co.us
Educator Licensing Link and print out the appropriate
application
packet. If you wish a packet be mailed to you, call:

866-6628, or press "zero" twice to reach a person.
If fingerpring is required: Should
you require to be fingerprinted for an initial license or license
renewal, the
C.D.E. fingerprint cards are available in Human Resources or you can
request a card be mailed to you when you print your
application
packet online. Local fingerprint services in Durango are
available:
Mondays at the Sheriff's Department in
Bodo Park,
9:00 a.m. to 11: a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., fee is $5.00 or
Thursdays at the Durango Police
Department, 990 E.
2nd Avenue, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, fee is $7.50.
You MUST
have the C.D.E. Licensing fingerprint card with you when you arrive for
printing, cards are available in Human Resources.
You will be
submitting your C.D.E. fingerprint card to the Colorado
Bureau of Investigation., 690
Kipling Street, Suite 3000, Denver, CO 80215, fee is $39.50
payable ONLY by Money Order or Certified Check made payable to
CBI.
This
process ONLY applies to individuals intending to work under the
authority of a Colorado Department of Education issued license or
authorization.
